Bikeways Project

Bicycles provide the first/last mile support in the LRT-1 commuter’s journey. They are an important part of the integrated mobility options for a modern city. Our Bikeways Project started in 2019, and it is made up of establishing on and off-road bicycle facilities such as bike lanes, bicycle sheds, bicycle racks, among others.

LRT-1 Bike Policy

  • Foldable bikes and e-scooters are allowed. The size when folded must be 2×3 feet or at least 5 feet in length
  • Must be placed not blocking pathways and causing inconvenience to passengers inside the train
  • Passengers with foldable bikes are encouraged to board the last coach

Bike lane (Pasay – Makati)

In celebration of World Environmental Health Day on 26 September 2020, LRMC employees joined hands with volunteers from Pasay City local government and bike groups in painting a 1-km bike lane along Arnaiz Avenue (from LRT-1 Libertad Station in Pasay going to Makati). This is a portion of the proposed bike lane that will connect Pasay to Makati CBD.

The Bikeways Project is part of LRMC’s initiatives to integrate the use of bicycles with public transit systems and provide a seamless commuter journey. It is also part of the efforts to create a positive impact on society by addressing traffic congestion and pollution, as well as lowering carbon footprint.
