TOURISM CAMPAIGN

ikotMNL was launched in 2018 as a tourism campaign, in partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT) and local tour operators to promote rediscovery of Metro Manila’s historical spots and landmarks that are accessible by riding the LRT-1. Through LRT-1’s ikotMNL, local and foreign tourists can rediscover more of Intramuros, Binondo, or Quiapo since they can take the train and have more time to explore Manila for food, shopping, museums, and parks.

Mamasyal
Take the LRT1 and rediscover the glorious history of Manila through its beautiful museums such as the National Museum near United Nations Avenue Station and architectural wonders like Manila Cathedral, a five minute walk from Central Terminal. Release your inner artsy when you marvel around what was once known as the glamour strip of the country’s capital, Escolta. Go ikotMNL and experience Manila like never before.

Mag-food trip
Indulge in marvelous gastronomic experience as you eat your way around Manila. Taste the rich and delicious cuisine and signature desserts of Manila’s famous old charming restaurants and newly opened food hubs in Binondo, Escolta, Malate and Intramuros.

Mag-shopping
You’ll never run out of places to go thrift shopping and test your bargaining skills when in Manila. Score stylish yet affordable accessories, clothes, souvenir items, and home decor when you visit shops, malls, and bazaars around the city.

MOBILE APP FOR INTEGRATED MOBILITY

In support of this campaign and in keeping with its mission of providing a convenient journey for its commuters, LRMC developed the ikotMNL mobile app and launched it in November 2019. A first-of-its-kind in the Philippine railway industry, ikotMNL app is a useful and convenient tool for the riding public by empowering commuters with better  access to information.
