MANILA, Philippines, June 7, 2019 — Light Rail Manila Corporation proved yet again how it values innovation. On May 31, 2019, Technical Adviser for Operations and Maintenance Emmanuel Lucas together with a technical adviser from Paris Metro’s Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens(RATP) Pascal Pellacoeur received in Singapore the company’s first gold Stevie Award at the sixth annual Asia-Pacific Stevie® Awards. It is the only awards program to recognize innovation in business throughout the entire Asia-Pacific region.

“This award is for the Philippine Government and the
Filipino people who deserve nothing less than safe, reliable, efficient and comfortable journeys.”
LRMC’s first golden Stevie is for the Automated Train Operations Management System (ATOMS) which was developed internally and launched in February 2018 to enable strategic traffic management that ensures a train is at every station every three minutes.

“ATOMS has enabled LRMC to efficiently optimize resources
to meet customer needs for more trains, more trips, shorter queueing time, more comfortable and faster rides…”
“This award is for the Philippine Government and the Filipino people who deserve nothing less than safe, reliable, efficient and comfortable journeys. Their aspiration for a better transport system in Metro Manila is what moves us every day to continuously deliver service excellence,” said ATOMS project manager Lucas in his acceptance speech. LRMC President and CEO Juan Alfonso said: “ATOMS has enabled LRMC to efficiently optimize resources to meet customer needs for more trains, more trips, shorter queueing time, more comfortable and faster rides – enabling passengers to get home earlier and spend more time with their families.”
