LRMC opens LRT-1 station as booster vaccination site

Participates in 3rd National Vaccination Drive

In support of the government’s third wave of nationwide vaccination drive dubbed as “Bayanihan Bakunahan,” LRT-1 private operator Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) is bringing the booster shot against COVID-19 virus to more Filipinos as it designates LRT-1 Baclaran Station as a booster vaccination site.

On February 10 and 11, LRMC is partnering with Pasay City Health Office in offering booster jabs for all who received their primary and secondary vaccines from different local government units or facilities.

“We are one with the government in this fight against the COVID-19 virus. We believe that we should work hand-in-hand to make vaccines accessible to all and put an end to this pandemic. LRMC is constantly thinking of innovative strategies to help curb the spread of the virus. Through this partnership with the government, we are making it accessible, convenient, and easy for those who want to have their booster shot by just taking the train going to LRT-1 Baclaran Station,” Dr. Louernie F. De Sales, LRMC Head of Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality Department said.

The vaccination drive is open to all who need booster shots covering 12 years old and above. Senior citizens, indigent population, and individuals in economic zones will be given priority. The LRT-1 Baclaran vaccination site is open from 8am to 2pm.

“Proteksyunan ang inyong sarili at mga mahal sa buhay. Kumpletuhin ang 2 doses ng bakuna at magpabooster makalipas ang tatlong buwan. Sama-sama nating labanan ang COVID-19 virus,” Dr. Mercedes Noble, Pasay City Health Office Medical Officer 5 said.

Those who want to have their booster shots at LRT-1 Baclaran Station are asked to bring vaccination card and own pen, as well as to observe minimum health and safety protocols at all times.

To date, LRMC has achieved a 99.7% vaccination rate and 53% for booster shots among LRT-1 employees. The company has been awarded the Safety Seal by the Pasay City local government highlighting the company’s compliance with COVID-19 protocols.
