LRMC to offer free LRT-1 rides for 126th Philippine Independence Day

LRT-1 private operator Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) joins the nation in celebrating the 126th anniversary of the Philippine Independence Day on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. To mark this occasion, LRMC will offer free rides to LRT-1 passengers from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Passengers with existing beep™ cards can tap their cards at the Automated Fare Collection System (AFCS) gates to avail of the free ride without charge to their load. For those without beep™ cards, passengers can get their Single Journey Tickets (SJTs) for free at LRT-1 teller booths.

On Independence Day, LRT-1 will operate under its usual holiday schedule. The first trains will leave Baclaran and Fernando Poe Jr. stations at 5:00 AM, with the last trips departing at 9:30 PM (Baclaran Station) and 9:45 PM (Fernado Poe Jr. Station).

This free ride program aims to encourage Filipinos to conveniently travel and enjoy the festivities. Passengers can use this opportunity to visit tourist spots located near LRT-1 stations, making their Independence Day celebration truly memorable.
